On Tuesday, April 29, Hearts and Hands Food Pantry was honored to be featured at Truist Field, home of the Charlotte Knights in Charlotte, NC, during a special fundraising initiative called the $10 Challenge. The pantry appeared on the Jumbotron, helping raise awareness about its mission to feed families in need across Mecklenburg County and encouraging fans to donate just $10 to make a difference.

The $10 Challenge, presented in partnership with the Charlotte Knights, came at a crucial time. The pantry is currently navigating reduced federal funding and a decline in donor contributions, even as the number of families in need of food assistance continues to rise throughout the Charlotte area.
Hearts and Hands Food Pantry provides both perishable and non-perishable groceries to individuals and families, and staff members say that community support is more important than ever. Donations help them continue offering reliable food support as economic strain and food insecurity impact more households across the region.
Although the event at Truist Field has ended, the spirit of the $10 Challenge lives on. Community members are encouraged to keep it going by challenging their friends, co-workers, or faith groups to each give $10.
To participate, visit the Hearts and Hands Food Pantry website and make a $10 donation. Every dollar directly supports their efforts to provide nutritious food to local families.
A heartfelt thank you to the Charlotte Knights for their generous support and for giving Hearts and Hands Food Pantry a platform to share their story. Together, we can continue to fight hunger—one $10 gift at a time.
